The Giving Tree

(Homeless transitional and family housing)

A program that gives hope and a sense of normalcy to low income/homeless families and homeless at-risk youth ages 13-17 and 18-25 throughout Pierce County who are lacking a positive, safe, and stable environment. The program provides the needs of housing, food, safety, and support to help individuals lead productive lives. The program offers case management services, life skills instructions, group and individual therapy/mentoring, educational services, childcare, and employment resources that help financially, physically, and mentally. The program helps stabilize families who are low income, homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. We will help families obtain permanent housing, get proper credentials, and jobs to earn and increase income, save money, and develop the tools they need to become self-supportive. A transition plan will be put in place for homeless youth as well as the families, every resident will be placed in a 3-6-9- or 12- month program. Extended program stays, past 12 months are evaluated on a case-by-case basis for qualified individuals.
